Overview
Blending Electronic Engineering and Computer Science - adding intelligence to every day systems and developing robots that can interact with humans and our environment. Through project work, students will explore robotics and intelligent devices and may focus their project work throughout the programme in a specific area of their interest or blend thematic areas.
Course structure
Duration: 4 years
Year 1: Students complete Foundation Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics and Digital modules. Students complete critical skills modules over the 1st 2 years of the programme weighted 7.5 ECT, gaining experience working in a team, developing project planning, time management, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills. While taught modules in year 2 develop a strong basis in Robotics.
Year 3 : Students complete 6 taught modules over semester 1 (5 credits each) and over semester 2 obtain an industrial work experience placement including the skills training ahead of the placement application.
Year 4 : 25 credits of taught modules and a Final Year Project worth 20 credits are compulsory while 15 credits (3 modules) may be chosen from a selection of modules. An excellent variety of project choices is available to our students.

After Undergraduation
The rapid advancement of robotics, AI, and intelligent device technologies is driving the need for new skills. Job opportunities are emerging across various sectors, including manufacturing, finance, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, energy, communications, and research.
Potential graduate positions may include roles such as robotics engineer, software engineer/developer, embedded systems engineer/developer, intelligent systems architect, and intelligence analyst.
Students enrolled in this program will gain valuable experience ahead of commencing their career, through work placement in their third year, along with a portfolio of projects to showcase to prospective employers.
